KENT, UK – Vanquish Motorsport will compete in one of the most exciting motor racing events in Britain this year – the 2016 Renault Clio Cup Championship. With a record viewing levels expected, the championship is an incredible opportunity for the Kent-based racing team and their sponsors to benefit from a phenomenal level of exposure.
In the driver’s seat
With just over a month left until the season begins in April, excitement is at an all-time high for the team. The Renault Clio Cup Championship has a rich history, dating back to 1974, and will attract some of the best drivers from across the UK and Europe. This is the first time Vanquish Motorsport has entered the competition, but the same cannot be said for their experienced and talented driver – Paul Plant.
Paul’s racing career started in 2008 in the Alfashop Alfa Romeo Championship. In the years since, he has also raced in the CSCC tin tops, Eifelrennen, MSV Team Trophy, European Alfa Romeo Challenge, DNRT, CSCC Future classics, and has enjoyed countless victories too. Successes include a triumph at Germany’s Nurburgring, where he beat the existing European Alfa champion to become the first UK driver to win the European race of all classes overall.

He has placed highly in various championships in recent years, and shown outstanding pace in pre-season testing in the Clio. Record breaking audiences expected
Every year, TV audiences have grown significantly. And with a total UK television viewership across all broadcasts of 20.5 million in 2014, the stage is set for 2016 to be huge. On average, 500,000 viewers watch each race weekend live on ITV4 and ITV4 HD, and 20,000 watch via live streaming online. Trackside attendance for all ten rounds are expected to top over 400,000 this year. If that wasn’t enough, the Clio Cup is featured heavily in ITV’s Motorsport UK magazine programme and will enjoy an immense amount of exposure across social media and the press.
Prime time exposure for sponsors
